Editorial selection, no paid placement
Surf Segnana is at the mouth of the Sarca in Torbole, at the northern end of Lake Garda, where the Pelèr blows from the north until late morning and the Ora from the south in the afternoon. According to the provider, the centre has existed since 1980 and uses a sheltered bay that suits beginners as well as experienced windsurfers. It belongs to a group of water sports centres between Torbole and Riva del Garda.
It offers courses and rental for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing foiling and sailing, as well as stand-up paddling, kayaks and bicycles. Windsurfing group courses last two hours, a quarter of it theory; beginners and intermediates start in the morning in light wind and flat water, experts in the afternoon in strong wind and waves. Sailing courses on a dinghy or catamaran take place with a maximum of three participants and the instructor on board the same boat. If you like, you can take the internationally recognised VDWS basic certificate.
For children under 14 there is a separate Junior Club with adapted equipment and specially trained instructors. If the instructor decides that the weather does not allow a lesson, you receive a voucher without an expiry date, according to the provider. The centre suits beginners, families and more experienced participants who want to train intensively for a few days.
