Family business from Positano since the 1940s: private boat tours, gozzi with a skipper and trips to the Li Galli islands.
Editorial selection, no paid placement
Lucibello goes back to Salvatore Lucibello, a fisherman from Positano who acquired two rowing boats in the 1940s. When the first mail boats and the first tourists came to the coast, he built a larger boat; his children and grandchildren still run the company today. The meeting point is the large white pavilion on Spiaggia Grande, directly below the steps from the town centre.
The offer includes private day tours along the Amalfi Coast with about three hours in Amalfi and swimming stops, half-day tours, trips to the Grotta dello Smeraldo, sunset trips to the Li Galli islands and tours to Capri. The fleet includes traditional gozzi, motorboats and yachts, and a larger vessel is available for groups of up to 40 people. According to the provider, small inflatable boats of up to 40 hp can be rented without a boat licence, and there are also a water taxi and transfers.
If you want to see the coast from the water at your own pace, a private boat serves you well. You agree the route and swimming stops with the skipper, who adapts them to wind and sea conditions. According to the provider, online bookings must be made at least three days in advance. Food of your own may not be brought on board; a picnic can be organised on request. The Grotta dello Smeraldo is visited by rowing boat for an extra charge, and waiting times are possible.

The coastal road SS163 is narrow, parking is scarce, and on peak days number-plate driving bans apply. With bus, ferry and train you can reach almost every village even without a hire car.
Scheduled ferry, shared tour or private gozzo boat: what each option offers, what you see from the water, what to check about the operator and safety, and when the sea plays along.
